Take Me To Sea Isle City

30 May

Hello all!

I’m still working on this whole routine business, but with starting a new job, summer classes, packing my house, and finding somewhere to move, things have been pretty hectic!

Plus the check engine light came on in my car today… If I don’t look at it, it’s like it’s not there.

I am hoping to actually get into the ceramics studio next week! I’m a month into my summer and I have so many ideas! Can’t wait to post about them later!

As for the here and now, I can’t seem to find a minute to catch my breath. I have been working my new job every day as well as four consecutive hours of the most worthless classes I possibly could have taken this summer.

Thankfully, I took a second to get away to Sea Isle City, NJ with my family for Memorial Day Weekend! We took 2 cars, so it was just me and my 2 sisters in my little red Jetta the whole way down blasting country music and making fun of eachother, the usual.

Gotta love a good sister pile.

This was my first year being old enough to drink at the beach. So of course my family got a huge kick out of that. My dad spent the weekend telling me how going to the bar with me makes him feel “old as dirt”.

ImageSuch a daddy’s girl.

There were even a bunch of my friends from college down the shore that weekend!

It was so nice to just lay on the beach and get sunburnt with my book on how to be a better blogger!

I’ve been spending my time during my summer classes editing my list of goals for the summer and brainstorming blog ideas (clearly, not studying). My main goal is to become much more consistent in my post frequency and content. Hoping to focus this blog more around my art, style, and life rather than constantly commenting on how busy I am!

Isn’t the goal of a blog to make your life look awesome?! I need to work on that.

Have a creative Thursday!

Ok World, You Won This Round.

13 May

Hello All!

So, just to give you some scope on my state of mind today, I am still in my pajamas… it’s 2 pm.

I haven’t been able to bring myself to put on real people clothes yet. I will get there eventually. For now, I’m just recuperating with some coffee and my favorite mug.

To fill you in on the reason for my misery, I worked a 13 hour double shift on the boat on Friday, drove 2 hours home, danced at a York Capitals game on Saturday, drove 2 hours back, worked the worst 13 hours of my life… followed by breakfast at 2 am with some great new friends and 12 hours of comatose sleep.

I would love to rant on about how rude people are when they go out to eat. Considering I’ve waitressed all through high school and college, I feel very knowledgeable on the subject. But harboring a negative attitude toward the entire human population because of the ignorant actions of a small fraction of individuals is unnecessary. And my being upset won’t change other people’s actions. I can only handle my reactions.

That being said, anyone reading this, I implore you to please be respectful to those who are serving you. Treating servers as servants who are therefore beneath you is abhorrent.

Anyway, on a positive note, the Capitals won this weekend! And the Lady Capitals performances went off without a hitch! I love these girls. Image

Dance has really been my sanity.

Well, I should probably get going with this day! Happy Monday!

Let’s Go Phils!

10 Apr

Happy Wednesday!

It’s a gorgeous day in Philadelphia and of course I left all of my shorts at my parent’s house. So looks like it’s skirts all week for me! This beautiful weather is also becoming a serious problem, I can’t get myself to care about anything. All I want to do is lay in the grass and get sunburnt. But, life goes on and I still have classes and papers due tomorrow. But I thought I’d take a break from pretending to care about school today to blog about my first  Phillies game!

I know, it’s pathetic that it took me 3 years of living in Philly to get to a game.

But it was awesome! Not only did I get to spend the day with my friends BUT it was also dollar dog night! I ain’t mad at that. I know the Phillies won and that they played the mets, I have no idea what the score was though, I wasn’t really paying that much attention. There’s a lot to take in at the ball park!

Imagelike the beautiful view!

And truly great friends.

By the time I got home, I was so exhausted I passed out and slept like a rock. Which I also think is contributing to my lack of cares today. I’m usually sleep deprived and wired on coffee.

Well, back to the grind!
